Because it's been, what, two whole weeks since I've shown my face on this little blog of mine? Yeah, just about. I almost feel like I need to introduce myself or something...uh, hi, I'm Hannah, you might remember me?
But, thank you so much for sticking with me through this completely unplanned blogging break of sorts. Not posting was definitely what I needed to get me through the past couple of weeks, but I missed it so much. Especially your visits and comments. (I haven't checked my stats this past week because I'm afraid of what I'll find. Eep.) I'm back now--at least for the moment. ;-)
2. Oldish.
Last Sunday, Easter (oh, yes, Happy Easter?) was also my birthday--this gal is now fourteen! (And, as I mentioned to my dad, only a year away from my driver's permit now. He accordingly freaked out, as he should.) It was such a fabulous day: celebrated Easter, ate chocolate, dyed eggs, made a delish dinner, had cheesecake, watched Tangled for the second time (there'll be a third, and a fourth, and a fifth time, too, because I love that movie), opened presents, felt blessed. My Grandma came into town for the weekend, which was made for some extra fun!
I now officially have a cell phone, which is just a bit exciting. No more waiting at dance class wondering where on earth my dad is, or not being able to find a clock, or going somewhere with out a camera of some kind. Plus, it's blue and my background is now, well, a "Tangled" image. Love it.
3. Like an official photographer.
Because in addition to a blue phone, my other "big" birthday present this year was this program called Adobe Lightroom 3. Let me just say that I love it...and that I'm actually inspired to edit photos now. I'm also amazingly pleased announce that after just a week and a google search or two, I think it's safe to say that I have the basics figured out. In fact, I'm starting to feel tempted to write a Lightroom tutorial or two. But, I should probably spend a bit more time with the program first...I mean, I can't know anything that other Lightroom owners haven't figured out yet?
But before I go on, let's all pause for a moment of silence to honor of my trusty old Picnik account that I will no longer be using (at least, not that I know of). It was never a very smart editing program, but it was always there for me. Except when it froze up or the internet when out.
Okay, I'm just gonna stop there. Lightroom is fabulous--it's such a blessing to be able to edit on a legit program now. Ahh!
I was looking at my calender a couple of days ago--and there is absolutely nothing "special" going on this week. I'm doing school, going to dance class, having violin, and that's pretty much it. Co-op is over for the year, so today is empty. Empty--am I actually using this word to describe my shedule? It's the only week like this for a while, so I'm determined to get as much done as possible. (Is posting about it helping? Probably not.)
5. Pumped.
Something that is just around the corner, though--auditions for the summer musical (generally known as BOTD, or BOD, or something) that I'm usually in are coming up on Saturday. Saturday at 8:45am, to be exact; a time of day when I don't appreciate having to sing. This summer's performance is "White Christmas" (in July, because we're awesome like that) and I've been told by manymany people that there's going to be a ton of dancing in it, which definitely excites me.
So, I'm pumped...if not a little apprehensive and a lot nervous. I'm setting aside some time today to choreograph my dance to the 8 bars of music provided and have been singing my song, Castle on a Cloud (from Les Miserables...sweetest song ever), nonstop.
It's not that I don't think I'll make it in or anything (our director is absolutely lovely, and I happen to know she needs dancers), it's just that these things always freak me out; and I'm desperately afraid I'll randomly hit a wrong note, or my voice will suddenly start to sound wacky, and/or I shall just all around make a complete and utter fool of myself. Am I the only one who is like this?
-----
Okay, so reading back, it seems that I've simply written a rather disjointed summary of my currently crazy-busy (and dare I say a bit boring for ya?) life. To be honest, I actually hated reading back through it. I, I, I, me, I, me...gosh. Crossing my fingers that this didn't sound as egocentric as I think it might have. Ack!hope you're having a lovely week, friends!

Great Post, Hannah! :)
ReplyDeleteHAPPY BIRTHDAY!
And yay for cell phones, they're the best!!
Sounds like you had a good 2 weeks! =) Happy birthday!
ReplyDeleteTangled is the best movie ever! In fact, I'm watching it now for like the 15th time.
Funny thing, I just got lightroom 2! I hear they're pretty similar. =P I'm keeping my picnik premium account and my lightroom 2. Just because picnik is very useful in some ways that lightroom isn't. (Blog designing and such)
I hope you don't mind me asking, but what lens do you use? Whatever it is...It's quite awesome. =)
Email me sometime! I'd love to chat about photography and such. angel91799@gmail.com
Sorry for the long comment, but this was a pretty good post!

I'm very jealous of the cellphone and photoshop! :) Those are both on my wishlist... I'm having a giveaway on my blog - A Story Told in Pictures. Just thought you might want to check it out! :)
ReplyDeleteHappy belated birthday! And huzzah for Lightroom! The photos I've seen edited with it are simply divine.
ReplyDeleteYay Hannah! We missed you, and Happy belated birthday and Easter! :) Yay for lightroom (and getting rid of picnik) I still use picnik though, for some things like collages and making buttons, because i don't know how to do that in PSE7....yet. ;)
ReplyDeleteHappy (late) birthday! next year I turn 14 :)
ReplyDeleteAnne
Great post! I'm glad you're back! Happy late Easter AND birthday. :)
ReplyDeleteAwesome! Happy birthday, Hannah! <3 I just got my first cell phone, too, and I'm loving it. ;)
ReplyDeletehappy belated birthday! :) that's exciting about the cell phone and lightroom! i'm vaguely considering getting it, so i'd love a tutorial.
ReplyDeleteLoving that you're back, Hannah! Lightroom? Uh, jealous. Just a bit. ;)

Welcome back! Happy birthday! Yay for photo editing!
ReplyDeleteAnd oh-oh-oh...best of luck on your auditions...it's a dream of mine to be in a musical someday so I'm actually quite jealous. And no, you're not the only one. I'd be terrified to sing for an audition, even if excited all the same. I'm sure you'll do amazingly! And "Castle on a Cloud" IS the sweetest song ever...I'm a bit Les Mis obsessed. xP
<3
Pshhhh, I'm sure you did amazing on your audition. :) I'm envious of your theatre group - we don't really have one down here for homeschoolers. <Sad, is it not?
ReplyDeleteHAPPY BIRTHDAY! That's way late, I know, but it still counts. :)
happy late birthday! haven't seen Tangled yet... it's on my list! :)
